Canada Goose was founded in 1957 by Sam Tick, under the name Metro Sportswear, and is based in Toronto. Its first products were wool vests, raincoats and snowsuits; in 1972 David Reiss joined the company and brought in a down-filling machine, and by the late 1970s it was making parkas for police officers, park rangers and other public sector workers. It took the name Snow Goose in 1985 and Canada Goose in 2000.
At VIETTI, a family boutique since 1952 in Arona, on Lake Maggiore, the Canada Goose selection is for women and men and is built around down outerwear from the current season: the Seymour parka and short down jackets such as the Junction, the Bayview, the Clair, the Grandview and the HyBridge Grove. Every piece in the selection is filled with down, and most are made in Canada. The selection is updated with every delivery.
Canada Goose sizes follow the brand's own system and are stated on each product page; the cut is mostly regular, cropped on the Grandview, as stated on each product page together with the filling, the composition and the country of manufacture declared by the brand.
